| _A Quiet Oasis in the Centre of London |
 |
|
| Located
in a quiet cul de sac in the heart of the West End,
just off Oxford Street, the Oriental Club is a Private
Gentlemen's Club founded in 1824 by and for the benefit
of members of or retired from the East India Company.
The general purpose of the Club set by the original
founders, which included the Duke of Wellington and
General Sir John Malcolm remains unchanged; to provide
a meeting place for like minded people. |
|
|
| |
Since
the move to Stratford House in 1962 the Club has moved
gently into the 21st Century providing modern facilities
whilst retaining the charm and character of a bygone
era and continues
to maintain |
|
strong Oriental connections via Club members.
Whilst the Club has maintained its tradition as a
Gentlemen's Club, associate membership is encouraged
for wives, unmarried sisters and unmarried daughters
of members. |
The
superb location and excellent facilities of the Oriental
Club make it the perfect base from which to explore
London affording easy access to theatres, shopping
and transport. Bond Street underground station is
at the end of the cul de sac. Stay in one of our 32
En-suite Bedrooms or sample the Club's
Excellent Cuisine in the Elegant
Dining Room, which is open for Breakfast,
Lunch and Dinner. Celebrate a special occasion in
one of the Club's Impressive Function Rooms, book
the Club's Business
Room for a business meeting or simply
unwind with a quiet drink in the Members'
Bar or Drawing
Rooms alone, or with guests, at the end
of a long day. The Oriental Club seeks to provide
the facilities and high quality service to satisfy
the needs of its members, young and old alike. |
